THE CHALLENGE
An entirely new tournament concept, homeland African nations competing against the African diaspora, needed to be built from zero brand equity into a credible, nationally recognized sporting property ahead of its first-ever season. The brief was to design and execute a complete PR and marketing strategy spanning pre-launch, activation, and post-event phases, across five host cities.
WHAT PHIZ DID
Phiz PR & Marketing built and is executing the full strategic communications plan for the tournament's inaugural season, from initial positioning through to the official project launch, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Football Federation.
THE OUTCOME
The strategy has already delivered a major early milestone: an official project launch secured in partnership with the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Football Federation, positioning the tournament for its opening charity match featuring some of African football's most recognised names, ahead of the full multi-city tournament beginning August 2026.
